Third Shot Sports pickleball coach Mark Renneson returns to Salem, SC for three days of pickleball clinics, drills and private lessons at Keowee Key. Mark is a 5.0/PRO player and professional coach who travels across North America delivering clinics to players of all levels. Details of all the sessions are below.
Defence Wins Championships
It is important for teams to learn how withstand the pressure when their opponents are coming at them. This session is devoted to developing and applying the skills and strategies needed to ‘weather the storm’ and to get out of trouble when the other team is on offence. Topics will include how to neutralize opponents against fast balls at the net, how to pop up fewer balls at the NVZ, and how to handle spin. Limited to 12 participants. Skill level 3.0/3.5
Train like the pros! This fun and fast-paced drill session will put you through your paces. Advanced Training will give you a great workout in the following areas: serve and return; third shots; volleys, drops and dinking. Players should be at the 4.0 level or above.
Building on Basics
If you often feel that you are “just trying to survive” on the court then this is the perfect session for you! A fun, low-presure clinic that helps you get a better grasp of key technical and tactical skills needed to play effective pickleball. If you would like to move from “survival mode” toward more thoughtful and deliberate play, join us for Building on Basics. Ideal from novice players at the 2.5/3.0 level. Limited to 12 participants.
All About Offence
High quality pickleball requires that players have a good understanding of when and how they can go on offense. This session is focused on the technical, tactical and decision-making skills needed to be able to put your opponents in trouble. Areas of focus will include using the serve and the return to gain an advantage, hitting challenging third shots, as well as finishing strong up at the net. Note: while this session is devoted to offensive pickleball play, that does not mean it is all about hitting hard. This session will also examine the many ways that slow balls can be effective offensive tools. Limited to 12 participants. Skill level 3.0/3.5
For those who want even more personal attention, there are 90-minute private lessons available. The person who reserves it may take the lesson on their own or invite up to 3 other people to join them. This is a great opportunity to advance your game whether you are a new player who is just getting started, or a seasoned veteran who is reaching for that next level.
